About Yvany Peery
Ms. Peery is a trauma therapist, specializing in working with those who have experienced complex trauma and loss/grief. She also focuses on anxiety disorders, attachment issues, relationships, life transitions and work confidence.
Additionally, Ms. Peery enjoys working with clients of color and different cultures.
As a trauma therapist, Ms. Peery uses an eclectic approach. She incorporates EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), as well as elements of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), internal family systems (IFS), mindfulness and somatic experiencing.
EMDR is a form of psychotherapy that’s been proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences. This includes PTSD, anxiety, depression and panic disorders.
Prior to joining DC Talk Therapy, Ms. Peery worked for Vesta, Inc., a community mental health clinic in Silver Spring, Md. At Vesta, she worked as a psychotherapist and clinical supervisor.
Ms. Peery provides daytime and evening appointments. She offers teletherapy sessions on Zoom or Doxy, as well as in-person therapy.
