David Sternberg is the founder and director of DC Talk Therapy, which he started in 2012.
He provides individual counseling to adults of all ages, but he has a special interest in working with young adults (20s and 30s).
Trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, Mr. Sternberg helps his clients manage feelings of anxiety and depression that often come from navigating the turbulent period between college and middle age.
Mr. Sternberg has written extensively on the challenges young adults face. In addition, he’s been interviewed by several media outlets, including Good Morning, America; The Washington Post, Channel 7 (WJLA) and match.com.
He has been a practicing therapist in Washington, D.C., since 2001. Prior to starting DC Talk Therapy, Mr. Sternberg had a solo practice in Woodley Park for several years and worked in the outpatient counseling department at the Washington Hospital Center in D.C.
From 1997 to 2001, Mr. Sternberg worked at Seminole Community Mental Health, an outpatient mental health clinic outside Orlando, Fla., where he provided psychotherapy to children and adolescents.
A native of Silver Spring, Md., David Sternberg received his master’s degree in clinical social work, with honors, from Florida State University. He has a B.A. from the University of Rochester (NY).
